TONY CASTRO is the author of the landmark civil rights history Chicano Power, which Publishers Weekly hailed as “brilliant … a valuable contribution to the understanding of our time.” His other books include the literary biography Looking for Hemingway, the novel The Book of Marilyn, and the Mickey Mantle biographical series. A graduate of Baylor and a Nieman Fellow at Harvard, Tony is currently working on a book about faith, fame, and nostalgia in America. Formerly a national correspondent for the Washington Post, he was a columnist for the Los Angeles Herald Examiner and a staff writer at Sports Illustrated. Tony and his wife Renee LaSalle live in Southern California.
